Eco configure

Eco requires your Strange Loop Games (SLG) account. Enter your SLG username and password in the startup variables — you get the account for free at play.eco when you buy Eco. The Eco server has two ports: game port (3000 UDP) and web port (3001 TCP). Both are configured automatically — no manual setup needed. RAM usage depends on the world size: 6 GB is enough for a standard world (1 km²) with 10-20 players. For larger worlds we recommend 8-12 GB.

Important startup settings

Choose the essential access, world, and gameplay options before the first launch. Safe defaults are already selected.

Optional. Leave empty to let players join without a password.

Vendor token external credential

Optional vendor token for public listing or additional online services.

This optional token comes from the game vendor. Enter it only when you want to use the related listing or extra feature.

Resources and backups

The vCPU limit caps the processing time available on shared hardware. It does not mean exclusive CPU cores or guarantee a particular player count.

This order includes 2 backup slots. Local backups share your allocated disk space.

Schedule: Hourly, daily, weekly or monthly; choose the time yourself.
Retention: The number of restore points is capped by your plan allowance; the effective limit is shown in the panel. Choose a retention period from 1 to 365 days. The limit reached first applies.
Storage & cost: Regular backups are stored in /backups on the same game server, not on a separate system. They count towards your booked SSD storage; there is no separate monetary charge.

Scheduled backups are included at no extra charge. You enable the schedule yourself in the server panel.

Restore: You can start a restore yourself in the panel at any time. The complete server file set is restored; the restore action cannot select individual worlds or files.
Download: Every backup that is still available can be downloaded from the panel.
Cancellation & deletion: After the contract ends, the server is retained for 14 days. Before it is then deleted, one final full backup is stored on a separate system and kept for 30 days so it can be restored into a newly ordered server. Restore is no longer possible after an explicitly requested permanent account/data deletion; download any backups you need first.
Payment failure: After three failed payment attempts, the server is suspended; existing backups are retained and scheduled backups do not run while the suspension lasts. A single payment failure does not delete data. If the contract is subsequently ended, the process described above applies.
